The former Minister of local Government under the Kuffour Administration, Hon. Kwadwo Adjei Darko has said that politicizing local governance can only thrive if politicians have credibility.
He was speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’show with Kwame Afrifa Mensah.
“Political participation by people who have credibility has never been objected anywhere in the world. But in Ghana, we have thrown credibility to the wolves. Most people who are involved in Ghanaian politics have little or no credibility and that will translate into the local governance if politics is introduced in that aspect”, he said.
He furthered that “people in politics are the dirty people who make the system dirty”. “Politicians must let their yes mean yes and their no mean no”, he added.
