Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku has urged the media to tone down on the criticisms directed at Black Stars players.

According to him, we cannot continue to kill our footballers when things go bad in major tournaments and expect the same players to turn up for subsequent assignments.

The comments of Kurt Okraku come on the back of the massive media uproar after the Black Stars ended the 2023 African Cup of Nations at the group stages without a single victory.

Kurt Okraku while addressing the press in Kumasi, said the players need support even in bad times.

“If we kill our players when things go bad, we won’t find those players. We must not only support them in good times but must stand behind the team when things go bad,” Kurt Okraku said at the GFA’s meet the press in Kumasi on Wednesday, February 7, 2023.

The Black Stars were in group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique but finished third with only 2 points.
