'We won’t allow what NPP did for Nana Addo in NDC'

The former District Chief Executive of Agona East in the Central Region; Martin Luther Obeng,  has served notice that elements in the main opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) will resist any attempt by some executives in the party to impose ex-president John Dramani  Mahama on the party for the 2020 elections .
‘Any  attempt to repeat what the regional chairmen in the now governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) did for the now president when he as in opposition will be fiercely resisted’.
He warned that nobody’s ambition in the party will shelved adding that everybody must be allowed to show their intent in the party.
Mr. Obeng made this comment on the Epa Hoa Daben show hosted by Kwame Afrifa Mensah on Accra -based Happy FM.
He claimed ‘we will not sit down for some people to reverse the will of the people and the NDC is not a group of such  people.
He said those pushing the agenda for the easy come back of Mahama must desist from doing so because all their subtle attempts will be fought vigorously.
According to him, Mahama is not the only capable individual in the party so people should not think that he is the best thing that has happened to the party.
He served notice to those plotting for the comeback of the ex-president to desist from doing so as what the NPP did for Nana Addo during their primary will not be accepted in the NDC.
He called on the party chairman to stomp his authority in the party by bringing the so-called regional party chairmen to book.
Even though I don’t support what Sylvester Mensah is doing, I think if he must be dealt with all others too must be dealt with.
He said Mahama started it all with his unity walk so he( Sylvester) should   not be blamed.
The NDC must be straight forward in opposition and not what it is doing now.
He noted that from the look of things Mahama may have to contest his former appointees.
