Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Monday, May 27, addressed the 8th Ghana CEO Summit, showcasing the significant progress made by the Akufo-Addo administration in driving the country’s development agenda.

He emphasized the government’s focus on tangible, verifiable projects, drawing a distinction with the previous John Mahama administration’s initiatives, which he characterized as lacking substance and tagging it as ‘Guinea Fowl’ projects.

Unlike previous administrations, he emphasized, the current government’s initiatives are tangible, verifiable, and trackable by the public. This approach has yielded significant progress in various sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, and education, benefiting numerous communities across Ghana and laying a solid foundation for future growth and development.

Vice President Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustainable development. He emphasized that the Akufo-Addo administration’s achievements are not only tangible but also have a lasting impact on Ghana’s infrastructure and economic growth, setting a solid foundation for future progress.

Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the Akufo-Addo administration’s comprehensive development agenda in his address, showcasing significant advancements in healthcare, education, and infrastructure. He emphasized that these projects have been carefully planned and executed, yielding tangible benefits for numerous communities across Ghana, and transforming the lives of citizens.

“The Akufo-Addo administration has made significant investments in transformative projects. We’ve undertaken over 200 initiatives in Zongo development, impacting communities nationwide. Our investment in Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) stands out, with over 6 billion Ghana Cedis allocated over the past 7 years – the largest by any government in the Fourth Republic. We’ve also made TVET free, expanding access to quality education. Under our Development Authority, 1,609 projects have been completed, while the Northern Development Authority has executed over 304 projects. These are not trivial ‘Guinea fowl’ projects, but tangible, impactful initiatives driving real development and progress”, he said.
