The Ghanaian phenom finished seventh overall in a stacked field, further cementing her place among the NCAA’s elite middle-distance runners .
Abugire’s performance builds on a stellar indoor season, where she twice broke the WT 800m record—first at the Red Raider Invitational (2:07.19) and again at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational (2:06.34).

Her consistency earned her the Lone Star Conference Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award and a top-three national ranking in Division II .
The Bryan Clay meet also saw Abugire clock the second-fastest 1500m time in school history (4:20.57), demonstrating her versatility.
With the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships next on her schedule, she remains on pace to challenge for an NCAA title .
