Information reaching Happy 98.9 FM indicates that residents in the Bia East and West constituencies in the Western North region rushed to the campaign grounds of former President Mahama just to catch a glimpse of his number plate following the belief that the car registration number of the former president always makes them win in the lottery.
According to the Happy FM’s Western North correspondent, Boah Augustine, the people have this belief because of the history of always winning the lottery with the former President’s car registration number whenever he comes into the region.
“The history there is that anytime Ghana’s former president John Dramani Mahama brings a car to the area, his registration number is a win for them in their lottery. So a lot of people crowded when the former president was present. They went on to listen to him but what they needed was the car registration number for lotto. These people trooped to his car to get the registration number”, he told Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show while updating viewers on the former president’s tour in the region.
The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, on Sunday commenced a tour of the Western North Region.
Prior to entering the Western North Region, he wrapped up his tour of the Ahafo Region on Saturday, after completing a tour of the Bono Region.
