Former Ghanaian footballer, Afo Dodoo, says Ghanaian players are highly motivated when they play against top oppositions.
Dodoo who played in two AFCON tournaments for the Black Stars was sharing his experience when the Black Meteors faced a star-studded Brazilian team at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.
The Black Meteors lost 2-1 in that quarter-final game against the star-studded Brazilian team.
The Brazilian team at the time had players such as Ronaldo Nazario, Roberto Carlos, Bebeto, and other stars in their squad.
Afo Dodoo stated that Ghanaian players do not fear tough oppositions irrespective of the number of world-class players but instead are motivated to prove a point.

Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Where Are They? on facing these great players he said, “Ghanaian players are always motivated to play against the big teams. We do not fear or have an inferiority complex when we face these players.
“I remember our Olympic Games against Brazil when we face some big players such Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos and others. We played very well but unfortunately, we lost to them”.
The former Great Olympics star Afo Dodoo is happy about the performance of Olympics in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
Afo Dodoo who played for the wonder club in the 1980s says he is proud his former side has regained their competitiveness and are contenders for this season’s league.
“I feel so good about the performance of Great Olympics. With their current form they should be able to win the league. I am very happy with their performance”.
“It will be difficult to win the league now that Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have taken a lead on the table but we cannot also write them off”, he added.
Ghana’s participation in the FIFA World Cup has seen the Black Stars played at their best against some of the best teams in the world.
