Zylofon music signee, Obibini, has gone into details about why he did not add Sarkodie to his list of top five rappers as would be expected, since Sark has been recognized as the biggest rapper in Ghana.
Obibini was interviewed on an Accra-based station where he mentioned that Sarkodie is not part of his top five rappers. Speaking in another interview with Doctar Cann on Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra, the rapper explained the reason for this.
“I meant no disrespect to any rapper whose name I didn’t mention but what I was asked, the key word in there was ‘personal’ so if you look at the list of people I mentioned, these are rappers who have similar styles to mine. They rap like me’, he said.
The rapper further expunged that, “These are the foreign musicians who appeal to me so there’s no hate or anything. It’s just that I take inspiration from these people and I had to be factual about it. There’s always someone better than the other. It’s like iron sharpening iron”.
Obibini noted than he can fix Sarkodie somewhere in his top ten list, however, the rapper does not make it to his top five and he is not someone that he (Obibini) listens to often.
