#WorldRadioDay: Fidelity honours Happy FM with a customized radio cake

Fidelity Bank, in view of the World Radio Day, has celebrated Happy 98.9FM with a customized radio cake to commemorate the day.

The cake, which was gifted to the station through its current affairs programme, the Happy Morning Show, was moulded in the form of a radio and decorated in the Happy FM colours, red and yellow.

The move by the bank is to honor and recognize the role of Happy FM and its immense contribution to the banking industry in Ghana. It also seeks to highlight the importance of radio to the success of Fidelity Bank over the past 12 years.

Presenting the cake to the Happy FM team, Carlotta Bannerman, Brands and Communications Manager of Fidelity Bank, said, “Today, as we mark World Radio Day, Fidelity Bank would like to congratulate Happy FM for contributing tirelessly to nation building. We will endeavor to work together with radio stations to better the lives of Ghanaians through innovative financial products and services.”

We want to use this occasion to thank all radio stations in the country for the good work they are doing by way of informing, educating and entertaining us, he added.

On his part, the Programmes Manager of Happy FM, Emmanuel Akrumah, said, “Happy FM is happy to be recognized and appreciated by Fidelity for its good work in radio. As one of the best socially-oriented radio stations in Ghana, Happy FM is Happy to work together with Fidelity Bank to deliver improved services to its customers.

World Radio Day, which is February 13 of every year, is a day set aside to celebrate radio broadcast and improve cooperation among broadcasters. It is also to encourage decision-makers to create and provide access to information through radio, including community radios.

‘Radio and Diversity’, which is the theme for this year’s World Radio Day calls on radio stations to maintain diversity in the newsroom and on the airwaves so as to guarantee a variety of content and voices of its varied audiences.
