To provide a unique platform for emerging talents in the Ashanti Region to flourish, YFM Kumasi has introduced a new show dubbed ‘Homegrown’ to its vibrant array of programmes.

‘Homegrown’ will air on Saturdays at 4:00pm to 6:00pm and will be hosted by Solomon Owusu Ansah aka DJ Kastiva.

‘Homegrown’ is a radio show with the sole aim of nurturing talents and helping urban entertainers stay afloat in the ever challenging terrain of the showbiz industry.
The show will feature a wide range of showbiz industry players like the unsigned and independent music artists, producers, managers among others in the region.

Speaking about the new programme, Nathaniel Osei Kuffuor Programmes Manager of YFM Kumasi said: ‘’We engaged several industry players and out of that we came up with the concept dedicated to musicians based in Kumasi giving them the needed push that will enhance their listenership base in the region.

Y Kumasi aims to give thousands of new musicians the platform they need, for both radio and our other media platforms’’ he stated.

According to Nathaniel Osei Kuffuor, the scope of the show will cover all genres in the region rap, reggae, hip-life, high-life, dance hall, afro-beats and many more.

‘’ We are inviting interested musicians, promoters, producers, among others to take advantage of this rare opportunity and email their songs and contact information to music@yfmghana.com you or call 0206804251 for details’’ he said.
