Yamoah Ponko eulogises Wontumi

Former Municipal Chief executive (MCE) of Ejisu Juaben municipality, Afrifa Yamoah Ponko has showered praises on the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi’.

“Wontumi speaks the truth, he’s strategic and says what he can do; he doesn’t just spew venom,” he said on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show.

“When some of my colleagues in NDC underrate him, I laugh because he has done it to me and I will never ever underrate him. When my time elapsed as Ejisu MCE and the President re-nominated me, Chairman Wontumi stood against it and ensured that I was not confirmed by the assembly.” he added.

He opined that “the responsibility of a working regional chairman is to mount political strategies to cripple his opposition and that is exactly what ‘Wontumi’ is doing with the NPP in the region.”

The NPP Chairman has revealed that he sponsored the defeat of NDC Member of Parliament for Kumbugu Constituency in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak during the party’s primaries.
