YEA gives Zoomlion additional four months contract

Awal Mohammed , the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of Youth Enterprise Authority (YEA) says management of Zoomlion Waste Management Company has been given additional four months contract to mop up its operations under the sanitation module.
He said after the four months grace period, YEA will take the decision to open up the bidding process for the engagement of a competent waste management  company to come and manage the sanitation module in the country.
He argued that if the authority takes away the job from Zoomlion with immediate effect, it will create problems in the sanitation management of the economy.
We want them to do the job till June and by then the tender will have been opened for a new contractor to be engaged to manage the module he noted.
When the NPP assumed it prevailed on the management of   Zoomlion to provide the list of beneficiaries of the module adding that the company provided a list of forty-five beneficiaries across the country.
After a head count only thirty-eight beneficiaries came without appointment letters certifying that they are employees of the company leaving a deficit of over six thousand he said.
It is in view of this, that Board of YEA led by Sammy Awuku took the decision to terminate the contract of Zoomlion as it has short changed the beneficiaries over the years.
Per the contract Zoomlion charges YEA five hundred Ghana Cedis for a beneficiary every month but pays them a paltry one hundred Ghana Cedis a month claiming it uses the remaining four hundred Ghana Cedis for the provision of logistics for the beneficiary he explained.
He noted that per the new arrangement the company that will be engaged will provide logistics for the beneficiaries for the YEA to manage the payment of salaries to the beneficiaries across.
