Former President John Dramani Mahama has reacted to a verbal gaffe by President Akufo-Addo, who inadvertently mentioned Mahama’s name instead of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s during a recent event. The President’s slip of tongue sparked attention, as he meant to refer to his own vice president but uttered the name of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer.

In a striking coincidence, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, affectionately known as Chairman Wontumi, also made a similar verbal blunder around the same time as President Akufo-Addo’s slip-up.

Addressing a Youth Forum organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ho, former President John Mahama offered a witty interpretation of President Akufo-Addo’s recent verbal slip. Mahama suggested that the President’s mistake, might be a subconscious revelation of his own vision – one in which Mahama emerges as the next President of Ghana.

Mahama interpreted the verbal slips as an unintended endorsement from his political opponents. With a hint of humor, he encouraged the audience to take the endorsements seriously and vote for him in the upcoming December 7 general elections, solidifying his position as the next President of Ghana.
