Social commentator, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has cautioned the ruling National Democratic Congress towards their lackadaisical attitude towards the fight against galamsey.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor said the goodwill being enjoyed by the NDC will easily be undone by their inability to deal with galamsey.

He hinted that there will be a protest on May 1, to remind the government of its responsibility to end Galamsey.

“I fear that, for all the goodwill Dominic Ayine and Justice Sai are bringing to the government in ORAL, the lackadaisical attitude on galamsey will undo NDC. Why the mixed messages? The lands minister needs to be more decisive.”

“A silent march on May Day to remind the government that the fight against irresponsible mining is still dear to us as Ghanaians. 1st May #SaveOurForests March?” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor also commended the Convener of the Media Coalition Against Galamsey, Ken Ashigbe for not backing down on the fight against galamsey.
