The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has clarified that the recent gathering of youth at the party headquarters of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) was not a protest over job opportunities.

According to him, it was a show of solidarity with their leaders whose appointments have delayed.

In an interview with Happy Kaseɛbɔ, Mr. Opare Addo stated that the youth wanted to engage party leadership on why some key figures who played significant roles in the election campaign had not yet been assigned positions in government.

He assured them that President John Dramani Mahama remains committed to an inclusive governance approach, ensuring that everyone who contributed to the party’s victory is recognized.

With over 5,000 appointments to be made, the minister explained that the process has only begun, and every deserving individual will be duly considered.

He reaffirmed the president’s dedication to fixing national challenges and creating opportunities not just for members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but for all Ghanaians.

He urged party members to remain patient as the government works through the appointment phases, assuring them that their contributions to the party will not go unnoticed.
