The engagement of the Arabic tutors form part of the Arabic Instructors Module (AIM) under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) but paid for by the Ministry.
This number of instructors to be engaged came to the fore when the Ministry of Inner-City and Zongo Development (MICZD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the operational agency, YEA in Accra.
Per MOU the Ministry is supporting the YEA with a whooping amount of three million Ghana Cedis to cater for the salaries of the instructors who will be engaged by YEA as part of the module.
Signing the MOU at the Castle in Accra; the sector Minister Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface joined by the Chief Director of the Ministry Gifty Mahama, Dr. Sarfo Ohene, Special Advisor to the Minister, Mohammed Alhassan, Director of Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PPME) and Amina Sammo, Director of Projects and Programmes and Stephen Dapaah, Deputy director of PPME outlined plans for the roll out of more of such projects in the coming years.
He said any time the Ministry wants to roll out such projects as part of its mandate will collaborate with other sector Ministries.
He maintained that this falls in the five mandate areas of the ministry namely human development, security, infrastructure, women empowerment and education.
According to him, all protects in the above mentioned areas will be rolled out with other sector ministries in partnership.
‘Whenever the Ministry wants to roll out particular modules as part of the Ministry’s mandate it will collaborate with all relevant agencies to achieve this aim.
He explained the signing of the MOU is part of the collaborative efforts of the Ministry between Ministry of Manpower and Labour Relations which is the mother ministry of YEA.
He said the Ministry took the decision to partner YEA to implement the module because they have the capacity to do so as an agency.

He said the module is for all Arabic teachers irrespective of where they are in the country adding that this a porgramme for all Arabic tutors.
He said the module will benefit all Arabic tutors irrespective of their age adding that the ministry is not putting any age limitations on the engagement.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of YEA, Ibrahim Bashiru in accepting the three million Ghana Cedis cheque on behalf of his boss said the agency is concern about finding jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.
