President John Dramani Mahama has reinforced his administration’s stance against corruption, announcing an independent audit of the National Cathedral project, which was initiated during the tenure of former President Akufo-Addo.
In his national address on Wednesday, May 7, marking 120 days in office, President Mahama disclosed that global audit firm Deloitte & Touche has been commissioned to carry out the review.
“The fight against corruption remains a priority. Deloitte & Touche is conducting an independent audit of the National Cathedral project, and I expect their report by the end of May,” he stated.
Mahama also revealed that investigations have been launched into other government initiatives, including the 13th African Games, where several officials have been questioned regarding expenditure.
These actions underscore the President’s broader commitment to transparency and accountability, principles he championed during his campaign and continues to uphold in his early days in office.
