Tema Youth head coach, Edward Nii Doudo says he might compelled to quit coaching due to poor officiating in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
The premier league returnees suffered a controversial 1-0 defeat at the hands of Bechem United in the outstanding fixture of the GPL at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Wednesday after two of their players were shown red cards.
In the wake of the match, reports emanated from the match venue that officiating was somewhat nothing to write home about coupled with the news that the away team’s locker room was ransacked by robbers, who made away with valuable items.
Speaking on Happy FM, the trainer bemoaned the bad treatment meted out to away teams.
“I might be forced to cease coaching after this season because if the officials don’t put a stop to their shambolic officiating, I wouldn’t have any other choice than to call it a day to this profession,” he told Happy FM.
“Officiating in the league is poor and if we sit idle and do nothing about it, that’s the same way our clubs will go to Africa and suffer 5-0, 6-0 and maybe 10-0 to teams that are below our standards.”
