Bolivia coach names 93-man squad for World Cup 2018 qualifier against Argentina

BOLIVIA’s new boss faces some difficult phone calls when he trims down his squad for the 2018 World Cup – he’s called up 93 players.

Guillermo Angel Hoyos – the Argentinean ex-Barcelona coach who claims to have discovered Lionel Messi – is taking no chances as he tries to select his best squad for two vital upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The 53-year-old has named seven goalkeepers, 27 defenders, 34 midfielders and 25 attackers for training ahead of the crunch games against Peru and Chile.

The madcap manager needs to discover his best XI to make it to Russia with his side currently ninth in the 10-team South American qualification table.
Hoyos got the job succeeding Julio Cesar Baldivieso at the start of August with Bolivian football at rock-bottom.
Hapless Baldivieso was in charge for just 11 games, losing 10 and winning just one.
Bolivia lost all three of their Copa America games in June, conceding seven and scoring just two.
And in their World Cup qualification campaign they have just three points from a possible 15 as they look destined to miss out on making the cut.
