Phar Rangers Sign Experienced Ben Bessa 'Benzola' As Assistant Coach


Former Sekondi Hasaacas and Okwahu United coach Ben Bessa Zola has been named as the assistant coach for Division One campaigners Phar Rangers Football Club.
Ben Bessa Zola, popularly known as Benzola has been tasked to assist his head coach Bright Anthony Konadu to over see the club’s quest to place the club on high pedestal and make it a model club in Ghana.
The astute tactician has a wealth of experience on the job where he has been head coach of clubs like Ho Voradep, Swedru All Blacks, Sekondi Hasaacas, Samartex and Okwahu United.
He has also been an able assistant coach for Feyenoord Academy, Sporting Mirren and Aduana Stars.
Benzola was the assistant to the late Herbert Addo when Aduana Stars won the Ghana Premier League in dramatic fashion in their maiden season in 2009/2010 season. He also led Ho Voradep to FA Cup glory in 1993 and further went on to win the Champion of Champions after beating Asante Kotoko following which he was named Coach of the Year.
A former footballer himself, Benzola played for a plethora of clubs including Secondi Hasaacas, Okwahu United, Nigeria Racca Rover  (now Kano Pillars) and Ho Voradep.
Chairman for Phar Rangers Football Club, Nana Yaw Amponsah expressed optimism with Coach Benzola’s appointment and hopes that he can bring his experience to bear on the clubs dreams and aspirations.
“Our appointment of Ben Bessa Zola was not by chance. We were impressed with his previous works as a gaffer and believe that at this point, he is the right man to assist his head coach Bright Anthony Konadu in achieving the vision of the club for the project ahead.
