Black Galaxies coach, Annor Walker is confident the team will qualify out of Group C in the 2022 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) to be staged in Algeria.

The CHAN tournament is created for players who ply their trade in various leagues across the continent.

Ghana have been drawn against defending champions Morocco, Madagascar and Sudan in Group C.

The Black Galaxies make a return to the competition for the first time in seven years after missing the last three editions.

Ghana eliminated Benin and Nigeria in the qualifiers to seal  for next year’s tournament.

Coach Annor Walker is targeting qualification from the group stage in this tournament.

“What we have to do is to prepare well to progress in the group. I don’t see it as easy group but it depends on your preparations and how you approach every match. The most important thing is the preparations”, he said in an interview on Ghana’s group opponents after draw.

The former Great Olympics coach also hinted that he will go with the squad that played in the qualifiers and indicated how new players will be selected.

“For the tournament, I would like to go with the squad I used to qualify unless some of them have travelled or are injured. Your performance will also determine

“If you are not serious then you will be dropped.

“I will surely qualify and I don’t think about other teams. Black Galaxies, we have to qualify”, he added.

Ghana will be based in Constantine for the group stage games.

The tournament kicks off from January 13-4 February, 2023.
