Story by: Francis Boateng Antwi

Former Ghanaian Athlete, Eric Nkansah, has attributed the lackluster performance of Ghanaian Athletes in the recent Athletics Championship to insufficient backing.

Nkansah squarely points a finger at the government for not extending adequate support to these athletes.

Concurrently, nurturing sports has historically stood as a fundamental governmental duty, aimed at forging alliances.

In an exclusive interview with Happy FM’s Ohene Bampoe Brenya, Nkansah emphasized, “The government’s intervention is crucial to enhancing Ghanaian Athletes’ performance on the global stage.”

Amidst the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Ghana’s participation has been marred by injuries.

During the 200m race, Joseph Paul Amoah and James Dadzie sustained injuries, resulting in their unfortunate withdrawal from the competition.
