The 2024 African Legends Night at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, October 5, 2024 lived up to its high expectations, drawing a diverse audience eager to witness an evening of musical excellence.

The evening commenced with a red carpet session, eloquently hosted by Eunice Tornyi of Global Media Alliance with a stunning red dress perfectly aligning with the cause. With her engaging presence, she warmly welcomed a steady stream of enthusiastic guests, who had traveled from both near and far to enjoy the vibrant performances of four renowned African music legends.

The series of musical performances kicked off with a nostalgic set by Ghana’s Adane Best, who thrilled the audience with back-to-back hits like “Mafio” and “Gyata Bi Ole.”

George Jahraa followed with an electrifying performance, engaging the audience in call-and-response as they enthusiastically sang along to tracks like “Driver Banza” and “Ashikele,” both by popular demand.

The night’s excitement continued with a highly anticipated appearance by South Africa’s Yvonne Chaka Chaka. Known as the Princess of Africa, she expressed her deep appreciation for Ghana and its rich musical heritage. She captivated the audience with her classic hits “Umqombothi” and “I’m Burning Up.”

Okyeame Kwame rounded off the night for many guests with a fusion of retro classics such as “Woso” and “Small Small.”

Since its inception, the African Legends Night has become synonymous with excellence in music and entertainment, consistently delivering world-class performances that celebrate the best of African music. The event has featured some of the continent’s most celebrated artists, including Hugh Masekela, Femi Kuti, Freddie Meiway, Kanda Bongoman, Amakye Dede, and Daddy Lumba, among others.
