2024 edition of Marina Family Fun Ride held

The Lakeside Marina Park has organized the second edition of its highly anticipated Marina Family Fun ride.

The ride is a 20KM cycling race for adults and a 0.5KM cycling race for young children.

The Marina Family Fun Ride recorded immense participation from riders from across the capital, with numerous renowned cycling clubs partaking in the event as well.

The highly competitive ride saw David Kumah with running number 113 winning the Fastest Man Category with a time of 47 minutes, 38 seconds.

Kustin Jonson Bryt with cycling number 122 and Meshack Nketia with cycling number 123 came in as second and third fastest men with times of 48 minutes 15 seconds and 48 minutes 25 seconds respectively.

Mayumi Shimura, with cycling number 205, emerged as the fastest woman of the race.

Mohamed Samudeen topped the fastest male child category, with Dawud Mudasi and Shawk Abubakar coming in as 1st and 2nd runners up, respectively.

Phoebe Ayeh Ofeibea won the fastest female child category, with the Drevi family earning the sport of the fastest family.

The Marina Family Fun Ride is a fun and innovating cycle event that brings lovers of cycling across the country together to improve family bonding and promote regular exercise.

The event is organized on the 3rd Saturday of November each year at the Lakeside Marina Park.

Executive Director of Lakeside Estates, Salah Kwaku Kalmoni expressed gladness over being able to receive such a momentous buy-in from various individuals and cycling federations for the Marina Family Fun Ride.

“We started the Marina Family Fun Ride last year, and I am glad we did. It has given us the opportunity to exercise and meet with one another regularly to encourage us all. With the good work being done, the Ghana Cycling Federation seeks to partner with us for more cycling events and adventure. Thank you all for coming, and we hope to see you again next year,” he added.
