Ghana’s Black Queens have secured their spot in the next round of the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers. The upcoming Olympic Games are set to take place in Paris, France, and in the journey to represent women’s football from Africa, the Black Queens are making impressive strides.

Their journey began last Friday when they faced Benin in the first leg of the second round qualifiers and secured a convincing 3-0 victory on Benin’s turf. Today, the second leg unfolded at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the Black Queens aimed to maintain their momentum.

Despite the home advantage, the Black Queens couldn’t find the net in the first half. However, determination paid off as they intensified their efforts in the second half. Evelyn Badu, a prominent attacker, broke through with a goal in the 65th minute, propelling the Black Queens to a narrow 2-0 win by the end of the 90 minutes, with the second goal coming as an own goal.

With a commanding 5-0 aggregate triumph over Benin, Ghana’s Black Queens have secured their place in the third round of the African qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games.
