The EEZZY Group Foundation has committed GHS 800,000 to support Team Ghana’s participation in the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The sponsorship was officially unveiled during a colourful ceremony held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. The event brought together sports administrators, athletes, corporate leaders and key stakeholders under the theme “Inspiring Champions for National Pride.”
The financial support comes at a crucial period for Team Ghana, with athletes currently engaged in intensive training camps ahead of the multi-sport event scheduled for 23rd July to 2nd August 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.
The private sector investment is expected to significantly ease the financial burden associated with the team’s preparations, providing essential resources for training, equipment, logistics and athlete welfare.
The partnership also highlights the growing role of Corporate Ghana in supporting elite sports and reducing the country’s reliance on direct government funding for major international competitions.
Ghana will be represented by a 40-member contingent across athletics, boxing, weightlifting, badminton, and cycling.
