Emmanuel GameBoy Tagoe Set For Titanic Clash Against Argenis Mendez on September 2

Ghanaian boxer Emmanuel Tagoe is set to lock horns with Dominican Republic’s Argenis Alexander Méndez Zapata in their uncompromising IBO Lightweight Championship fight slated for September 2 dubbed “Defend To Conquer”.
The bout, which is being promoted by Babyjet promotions, will come off at the Trust Emporium, also known as the Bukom Boxing Arena and will see the Ghanaian pugilist, popularly known as ‘Game Boy’, taking a closer shot at his much anticipated World Title clash.
Speaking to the press Friday morning, Chief Executive Officer of Babyjet Promotions, Samuel Anim Addo, who also doubles as the manager of Black stars captain Asamoah Gyan, assured the press that his boxer will win the bout at all cost.
“I am highly confident in the abilities of my boxer ‘GameBoy’ and I believe absolutely that he will defeat Mendez in the bout.” Anim Addo said.
He also disclosed that several activities would be carried out in the run-up to the fight which certainly promises to be huge.
“Mendez Zapata is expected to arrive in Ghana a week before the bout. Both boxers would have the opportunity to interact with their fans at the West Hills and Marina Malls prior to the big day.” Anim added.
Emmanuel GameBoy Tagoe has 28 fights under his belt with 26 wins, 1 loss and 13 coming by way of knock-out and he currently holds the IBO Lightweight title while Argenis Alexander Méndez Zapata, the former IBF Super Featherweight champions has 24 wins out of 31 bouts with 12 coming by way of knock out and 5 losses.
Other bouts that will happen on the night include a bout between Olawadu  and Boniface kabore while Prince Gyani and Gideon Laryea clash in the WBO African Bantamweight contest.
