A 14-year-old girl has allegedly beaten a 13-year-old rival to death at Asamang in the Afigya Sekere East district of the Ashanti region.
Family sources of the deceased known as Maa Abena say the two teenagers have been at each other’s throat for some time now over a man the two are allegedly dating.
“I don’t know what is wrong with the two young girls, they have been fighting since last year, even last month the deceased was stabbed in a similar fight which nearly killed her,” the family disclosed.
The family source revealed that the accused person known as Faustina Korankye spotted her rival with the young man the two have been fighting over for the last one year and immediately got incensed.
Faustina subsequently engaged Maa Abena in a fight leading to her death.
“The accused person punched where Maa Abena was stabbed last month when they fought. We rushed Maa Abena to Asamang government hospital for treatment but died shortly after arrival” the source told Starr News.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at Asamang Government Hospital Mortuary, while the accused person is in police custody assisting police investigations.
