Highlife musician George Kwabena Adu, popularly known as Kwabena Kwabena says Awards Organizations in Ghana is Bad.
In a telephone interview with Eugene Baah, producer of Showbiz Xtra hosted by Dr Cann on Happy FM, Kwabena Kwabena argued that organizers of the award schemes claim they want to award artistes but they expect the artistes to pick a form before they are given awards.
“If I want to win an award as an artiste, I have to relax somewhere. My nomination has to come as a surprise to me just like the award itself so that I enter the that auditorium with enthusiasm hoping that I win an award. Even if I don’t win, the fact that you were nominated under a certain category should be an encouragement and happiness to the artiste.
But as an artiste, God strengthens you to compose a song, you spend on the publishing and video needed in the music and also your fans enjoy it, then you expecting the artist to come nominate him or herself. It’s bad.” He said.
