The Eastern Regional Chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bismark Tawiah -Boateng has written off the chances of the tall list of individuals jostling to lead the party for the 2020 polls.
According to him, he will only endorse a formidable candidate in the race for the soul of the party for the crucial 2020 polls.
And that candidate is the one and only John Dramani Mahama and all the others are just joking he said
So as leaders we must prevail on him to contest the primary of the party he noted .
The Eastern Regional party kingpin down played the chances of  the about fifteen aspirants seeking to wrestle with the former president when a statement came out that the ten regional chairmen have endorsed Mahama for the 2020 NDC’s slot.
‘We were  just prevailing on the ex-president to consider contesting the 2020 primary’ and we did nothing wrong as chairmen’ he defended.
If they don’t want me to endorse the ex-president who do they want me to endorse then he questioned.
Mr, Tawiah-Boateng, popularly known as ‘Opoman’ noted that among the personalities gunning for the slot, the ex-president stands tall among them all.
None of them have the pedigree of the ex-president, he has done it before and Ghanaians know what he can do he patiently explained.
Mr. Tawiah-Boateng said this in an interview with Kwame Afrifa Mensah during  the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ socio-political show on Accra –based Happy FM.
He contended that leadership skill of the ex-president is astute for the 2020 elections going by the failures of the NPP only ten months  in office.
