Chairman of the Division One League Board, Owoahene Acheampong has intimated that they will ensure Kwesi Nyantakyi honours his word of not seeking re-election as Ghana FA president on the expiration of his tenure in 2019.
According to the maverick football administrator, the Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi didn’t have a gun pointed to his head when he made that declaration hence they will expect him to live by his word since he is a noble man of honour.
Speaking on Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Owoahene Acheampong believes that since the FA capo has openly declared his intention, that decision should be made to stay as such.
“Kwesi Nyantakyi has openly stated that he will not seek re-election for the Ghana FA presidency in 2009 so we will hold him to his word. He is a man of honour so I expect him to live by his word. The truth is that no one put a gun to his head before he came out to say he won’t contest in 2019,” the astute football administrator noted.
President of the Ghana FA Kwesi Nyantakyi has come out to state his disinterest in seeking re-election in 2019 but there has been calls from some big-wigs in the fraternity for him to rescind his decision which gives the impression that he may succumb to the pressure and make a u-turn.
