Green Ghana project to engage 15,000 youth

As part of President Nana Addo Dankwa’s Akufo-Addo’s effort to green Ghana as well as give employment to the teeming unemployed youth in the country, the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in collaboration with the Forestry Commission will be engaging 15,000 youth across the country under the Youth in Afforestation module.
YEA is committing GHS 144 million while the Forestry Commission will commit 60 million for the training and remuneration of the beneficiaries for a two year period.
The project is set to commence in January 2018.
This came to light when the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) in Accra on Wednesday, 22 November 2017.
Chief Executive Officer of YEA  Justin Kodua Frimpong signed on behalf of YEA while Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, the Chief Executive of the Forestry Commission signed on behalf of commission.
