Controversial radio presenter Black Rasta has delivered his verdict on the on the artiste parading themselves as dance hall artistes.
According to him, there is nobody in Ghana  doing dancehall music currently. However majority of Ghanaian musicians have categorized themselves as  so.
The likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Samini, Jupitar and Rudebwoy ranking and many more are parading themselves as dance hall artiste.
But in a latest engagement with Black Rasta  on Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra hosted by Doctar Cann on the punchlines segment he  minces no words to say no  musician is currently doing dance hall music in Ghana”
The maverick   reggae musician Black Rasta additionally added, “if you look at the genre and trend people call Dance hall music is unfortunate.
In Ghana here there is no future for our Dance hall music and people didn’t understand me, ” he disclosed.
Abubakar Ahmed  and known in show biz as Black Rasta explained  ‘this is because you have to be creative by putting lyrics  in your own language or singing it in your own way. This will make it go a long way nonetheless, I was very concerned about  the longevity  and  I indicated that out of my exposure and experience which some people didn’t understood me however, at the end of the day can you mention one Ghanaian artist doing dance hall, ” he stated.
Black Rasta who’s now with Zylofon Media also added on the other hand, they have giving it a new name, calling it Afro dance hall which I’m very glad.
For instance, if you listen to Stonebwoy’s Enku-Lenu or ShattaWale’s Taking-Over, it gives you a clear indication of what they are doing especially.
When I offer an advice to Stonebwoy and some  other musicians however it is that same advice which is making Stonebwoy’s music unique.
Although we can do Dance hall we must  stop doing it like the way  the Jamaicans are doing it, “he warned.
The Barrack Obama hit maker further explained that, we cannot compete with the Jamaicans because  the world has accepted them long ago which Stonebwoy and  shatta wale are aware . So I will urge them to create something into it to make it exceptional.
He finally stated, “Stonebwoy calls it Afro Dance hall and I’m happy they have given it a new name because that was what I suggested so I am glad that they have added their own different local style to it and this will make it work he told Happy Fm
