The Eastern Regional first Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dared the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to bring back the Constitutional document they borrowed from the NPP in 2001.
According to Alhaji Bondiga, when it comes to the drafting of Constitution and making amendments to meet the test of time, the NDC comes no where near the NPP.
He said NDC in 2001 knowing that the NPP were better drafters of Constitution came to borrow a copy of the NPP’s Constitution to study to fine tune theirs.
He said in 2001 then General Secretary of the NDC Alhaji Hudu Yaya sent the Member of Parliament for Nimgo-Prampam in the Greater Accra Region; E.T Mensah to come for a copy of the NPP’s Constitution for their perusal.
He said the NDC came for the Constitution from Dan Botwe who was then the General Secretary of party and till date they have not returned the Constitution they borrowed from the party.
He said the likes E.T Mensah, Hudu Yaya and Dan Botwe are still alive and anybody can verify this information from them.
Alhaji Bondiga made this comment on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted by Kwame Afrifa-Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.
He said the NPP are better framers of a Constitution than the NDC and the NDC cannot compare itself with the NPP when it comes to making amendments to Constitutional documents.
