If you talk about rapping in African language; Ghana is a strong force to reckon with, you can make mention of Obrafour, Sarkodie, Reggie Rockstone, El, lord Kenya, Tictac and so on.
However, a young and very talented rapper called Akan has revealed that he is back to stay rapping in the African language.
The magnificent rapper disclose this to Punchlines King Jefferies Sintim Koree ChasKele on Happy FM’s Showbiz Xtra hosted by Doctar Cann.
He stated, “I have come to say”
Explaining why he chose the name Akan he detailed, “ although am aware there is a musician who bears almost the same name which is Arkan from the famous “Ruff and Smooth group” there is still a difference between my Akan and his.
My team and I took a good look at the two names and observed that the spellings were different,” he indicated.
Answering a question from “Chas Kele” to list his all time best 5 rappers in Ghana he stated, “ I will go for Obrafour, Okumfour Kwadee , Lord Kenya, Reggie Rockstone , Okyeame Kwame and Sarkodie as well” .
Responding to a question if he see’s his image in any of the “Big Musicians” in Ghana he explained, “ when you talk about music, you can mention “ Big Boys” like Obrafour, Kwadee, Okyeame Kwame and other great musicians.
I will not brag  about these artiste you say I see myself in  but they are very great,” he clarified.
Many have compared my style to that of Sarkodie who is currently the best rapper in the country for now and have declared that am the right artiste to succeed him when it comes to rap.
Nonetheless, we are all mentoring young talented rappers to help move the Ghanaians music industry the near future.
