Gyan Hails Sublime Thomas Partey in Uganda Game

Captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has touted Thomas Partey as the next big thing in Ghana football after his display against Uganda in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Speaking on Happy FM Wednesday morning, the Stars’ talisman expressed his awe at the sterling performance put up by the Atletico Madrid enforcer.

“I was impressed with his output yesterday but not surprised because to play for one of the best teams in the world [Atletico Madrid], you need to possess something unique, which I believe he has,”  Gyan said on Happy FM.

The Atletico Madrid midfield enforcer was arguably the best player for the Black Stars of Ghana in their 1-0 win over the Cranes of Uganda yesterday at the Stade Port Gentil in the AFCON Group D opener.

“He is a gifted footballer and I’m happy he plays for Ghana. For someone who doesn’t get enough minutes for his club and come to a big tournament like the AFCON, and put up such display, I think he’s on the right track.” Gyan added.
