Black Queens final list: Captain dropped ahead of Aisha Buhari Cup

Head Coach of the Black Queens, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has named her final 23 squad list for the upcoming Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Football Tournament scheduled for 15th – 21st September 2021 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Captain of the team, Elizabeth Addo, happens to be exempted although she made it onto the provisional list that came out just a week ago. It is currently unclear why coach Tagoe-Quarcoo exempted the player, however, it is clear that she will not be seen anywhere near the pitch come 15th – 21st September.

The list is made up of deputy captain, Portia Boakye who plays for Djurgardens IF in Sweden, Priscilla Okyere who plays in Israel, and Princella Adubea of Racing Feminino in Spain.

The Black Queens are drawn in Group B alongside the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon and South Africa’s Banyana Banyana.

Goalkeepers: Fafali Dumehasi (Police Ladies); Victoria Agyei (Kumasi Sports Academy); Mary Neequaye (Immigration Ladies)

Defenders: Gladys Amfobea (Ladystrikers); Nina Norshie (Berry Ladies); Ellen Coleman (Ladystrikers); Janet Egyir (Hasaacas Ladies); Philicity Asuako (Police Ladies); Naomi Anima (Kumasi Sports Academy); Justice Tweneboaa (Ampem Dakoa Ladies)
