Happy 98.9FM’s sports journalist receives GBA appointment

Mac-paradise Okocha, has been appointed as a member of the Media Committee of the Ghana Boxing Authority {GBA}.

The appointment by the GBA is in recognition of his enormous contribution towards the sport in the country.

The seasoned sports presenter and producer Okocha said his new appointment proves that hard work and determination pays.

‘’I have contributed immensely to sports in the country, and boxing is one of my favourite sports disciplines. This opportunity is an honour and I appreciate it. For me my greatest joy is the part of the letter that says my appointment was a unanimous decision it goes to show the Executive Board has faith in my capabilities and I won’t let them or Ghana down’’ Okocha stated.

He also called for support of boxing as a sports discipline.

‘’In the recent past boxing was the glory of Ghana from Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey among others put Ghana on the map. We need to nurture more boxing talents and we can do all that if we get the needed support, from government and other stakeholders’’ he said.

Timothy Karikari Director of Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company {GMABC} on his part congratulated Okocha on his appointment and wished him well.

‘’Congratulations Okocha, this is a big one and I know you will deliver on your mandate. Be a positive impact on boxing in Ghana’’ he said.

Mac-Paradise Okocha is the Executive Producer of the award winning Happy Sports, he is a commentator, presenter, event MC and a seasoned sports analyst.

GBA is the body responsible for licenses, sanctions and governs professional boxing events in Ghana.
