Entertainment pundit, Londona, has questioned organizers of the 3Music Awards for not nominating AK Songstress in a single category in the 5th edition of the awards scheme.

According to him, AK Songstress has done very well in the year under review with a hit song, and expressed his surprise after 3Music Awards released the list of nominees without her.

He called on organizers of the awards scheme to come explain this questionable incident.

“Do the organizers of 3Music Awards have a problem with AK Songstress? If they don’t then why didn’t they nominate her in any of the categories? We need them to come and explain,” he stated.

In a panel discussion with Doctar Cann on Happy98.9FM’s Showbiz Xtra show, he indicated that AK Songstress’ hit single, ‘Jonathan’ made waves last year and was one of the biggest and popular songs in the country and beyond. “The song was played everywhere and when you open your car door whilst playing the song, all the children around will sing along and dance to it.”

He believes a single nomination for the Songstress would have even been an inspiration to many fast rising artistes out there. Londona argues she was treated unfairly.

Londona posited that the songstress AK has now found the secret to Ghanaian music and will keep dropping one hit after the other. “We need to sell her brand now and all industry players should support that agenda.”

On Friday, the nominees for the 3Music Awards 2022 were announced in Accra, Ghana, under the theme ‘More Than Music to celebrate musical accomplishments in multiple categories, including Afropop, hiphop, gospel, and alternative music.

After two years of digital editions due to restrictions associated with COVID-19, the 3Music Awards 2022 will return to a live audience.
