The Black Queens, delivered a commanding performance, defeating Guinea 3-0 in the second leg of the 2024 Olympic Games African qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The resounding victory secured their progression to the next round with an overall 7-0 aggregate score.

The Black Queens dominated the game from the start, demonstrating their superiority. Evelyn Badu showcased her prowess in the 26th minute with a spectacular solo run down the right wing before burying the ball on the blind side of Guinea’s goalkeeper, Traore, intriguing the fans with a well-deserved opener.

However, Ghana suffered a setback in the 44th minute when Doris Boaduwaa was carried off the field after colliding with Guinea’s Aminata. Despite her untimely exit due to injury, the Black Queens proved their depth by replacing her with Fridaus Yakubu in the 47th minute.

The second half became more intense as both teams sought opportunities to make an impression. In the 52nd minute, Priscilla Adubea stunned the Guinean defense by cutting in from the centre to increase the Black Queens’ lead, stirring excitement among the home fans.

The constant pressure from Ghana’s attacking line proved too much for Guinea. Evelyn Badu proved her scoring ability again in the 59th minute, securing her brace with a well-timed rebound goal, thus putting the game out of reach for Guinea.

Fridaus Yakubu made her imprint on the game as it neared its conclusion, reaching the back of the net in the 85th minute to enhance Ghana’s lead and win a 4-0.

Ghana have now advanced to the next round where they will face Benin, a side they beat 3-0 earlier this year in a friendly.
