Seasoned Tunisian coach Khalil Abid has expressed his unwavering determination to rejuvenate Ghana Premier League powerhouse, Hearts of Oak, and guide the club back to its illustrious past.

“The position of Hearts of Oak last season, which was 12th, was very poor for a team of such stature in the Ghana Premier League,” Abid asserted. He firmly believes that under his leadership, the club will once again be a dominant force in African football. Abid’s extensive experience and impressive track record provide a solid foundation for this ambitious endeavor.

Abid’s aspirations for Hearts of Oak extend beyond domestic success. “Under my tenure, Hearts of Oak will be competing in Africa again,” he declared. His strategic approach and insights into the game’s intricacies hint at a bright future for the club on the continental stage. He envisions a revival that will echo the historic moments that once defined Hearts of Oak’s legacy.

“I have been to Ghana a couple of times and I understand the terrain,” Abid shared, highlighting his familiarity with the Ghanaian football landscape. Notably, his agent, who is based in Ghana, has been in direct communication with the club’s management to convey Abid’s keen interest in leading the team. Abid was quick to emphasize that his motivations transcend financial gains. “I’m not here for money; that’s not the objective,” he affirmed.

Hearts of Oak’s recent appointment of Dutch coach Rene Haddick as the new Technical Director has drawn widespread attention, and now, with the seasoned Tunisian coach Khalil Abid on the radar, the club’s aspirations are reaching new heights.

Abid’s extensive experience, having both played and coached to victory in the Tunisian League, adds a layer of depth and knowledge to his coaching philosophy.

As it stands now it’s uncertain who will be in the dugout for the Phobians in their first Ghana Premier League game which is scheduled to begin on 15 August.

They will play away to Real Tamale United.
