Ghana’s Black Queens qualify for 2024 WAFCON

Ghana’s national women’s football team, the Black Queens, has secured a coveted spot in the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

After five arduous years of missing out on qualification, the Black Queens staged a remarkable comeback, clinching victory over Namibia with a 3-2 aggregate score.

The first leg which was played in Ghana ended 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In today’s clash the Black Queens were beaten 1-0.
Both sides battled hard to gain control of the game in the early stages.

Namibia broke the deadlock in the 21st minute through a corner kick. Ghana was caught sleeping in the box which allowed Namibia to score a free header.

Ghana couldn’t string passes together as the game progressed. Namibia on the other hand continued to attack with long shots.

Ghana entered the dressing room down by 1-0
After the break, the game followed the first half pattern Ghana not been able to keep possession and Namibia attacked with long shots.

In the closing stages Ghana tried to get an equalizer through set pieces but the end result wasn’t good.
The referee ended the game and Ghana’s bench celebrated.
