2023 AFCON: Kumasi facilities not the best – Black Stars

The playing body and the technical team of the Black Stars have been left frustrated over the poor training facilities in Kumasi.

The Black Stars on Tuesday opened camp and held their first training session at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex as they prepare for the upcoming  2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The team was originally supposed to train at the Baba Yara Stadium but upon inspection, the technical team described the pitch as unsuitable.

This unexpected setback prompted concern, as the current state of the field was deemed unplayable.

The team’s preparations for the prestigious tournament faced a hurdle, forcing adjustments to their training location.

Despite the setback, the Black Stars remain dedicated to their goal of preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The challenges posed by the suboptimal pitch conditions have, however, heightened the technical team’s disappointment, emphasizing the importance of suitable training environments for optimal performance in the upcoming tournament.

The team will continue their training later today at the same venue.
