President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on journalists to harness their platforms to shed light on critical global issues, particularly the pressing threat of climate change.
He emphasized the vital role of the media in amplifying the conversation and mobilizing public action.

Speaking at the 3rd African Media Convention in Accra on Friday, May 17, the President also sounded the alarm on the potential risks of artificial intelligence, urging a collaborative effort between governments and the media to ensure responsible regulation and harness the benefits of this rapidly evolving technology.

“The media plays a pivotal role in sounding the alarm on climate change, a crisis that demands immediate attention and collective action. By harnessing its vast reach and influence, the media can inspire global unity and drive meaningful change. The media industry has a critical role to play in addressing climate change, both on and off the screen. By adopting sustainable practices in production, such as reducing carbon emissions and promoting eco-friendly energy, media outlets can set a powerful example for others to follow,” he said.
