Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings has expressed her approval of the Electoral Commission’s decision to use indelible ink in the December elections.

In an interview with Bismark Brown on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Da Ben show in the Klottey Korle Constituency as part of the “Happy on Wheels” monthly community engagement, she explained that the Electoral Commission’s earlier decision to omit indelible ink during the assembly elections was against the law.

She believes that the use of indelible ink in the December 2024 elections will enhance transparency. She also highlighted issues with malfunctioning BVDs, questioning how voter fraud can be prevented if these devices fail to function correctly.

Dr. Rawlings stressed that the EC must adhere to legal protocols to ensure Ghanaians have confidence in the election results.

She underscored the importance of protecting the country’s democracy in light of recent happenings in the sub region and urged the EC to go the extra mile.

She noted that historically, government changes every eight years.
However, with the current ruling party aiming to break this pattern, public expectations are higher than usual, making it essential for the EC to ensure their decisions are beyond reproach.
