Accra, Ghana
YFM, Ghana’s leading English-language radio brand and the country’s number one station for young audiences, has partnered with the BBC to deliver live commentary of the World Cup Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final across all its platforms in Ghana.

Through this collaboration, football fans will experience the biggest moments of the tournament with premium live commentary from the BBC, available on YFM’s nationwide network — Y107.9FM in Accra, Y102.5FM in Kumasi, and Y97.9FM in Takoradi as well as updates on its digital platforms.

YFM’s consistency in delivering engaging content and connecting with audiences has strengthened its position as the number one English-speaking station in Kumasi and Takoradi, while continuing to lead and dominate the youth audience segment across Ghana. In Accra, YFM remains one of the capital’s most influential English-language stations, consistently ranking among the top 3 English stations in Accra while maintaining its dominance and leadership among younger listeners.

Speaking on the partnership, Dr. Timothy Karikari, Director of Broadcast at Global Media Alliance, said the collaboration demonstrates YFM’s commitment to creating meaningful experiences for Ghana’s youthful population.

“Ghana is a young and dynamic country, and young audiences are constantly looking for content that connects with their interests, passions, and global experiences. Football remains one of the strongest platforms for engagement, and this partnership with the BBC allows us to bring our listeners closer to the biggest moments in world football through trusted and exceptional commentary.”

He added, “At YFM, we have built our reputation by understanding our audience and consistently delivering content that resonates with them. Our growth across Ghana, particularly our leadership among young audiences and our strong English-language audience rankings, reflects the strength of our strategy. Partnerships like this allow us to continue raising the standard of entertainment and sports broadcasting for our listeners.”

With Ghana having one of the youngest populations in the world, YFM continues to invest in partnerships and experiences that speak directly to the aspirations, interests, and lifestyles of young Ghanaians.

From the Quarterfinals through to the Final, football fans can follow every goal, every save, and every unforgettable moment with YFM and the BBC.

Football’s biggest moments are heard best on YFM.
