President of the School Feeding Caterers Association, Charlotte Asante has revealed that caterers under the scheme are responsible for the full cost of food supplies provided for pupils.

According to her, some school authorities think government provides caterers with food supplies. She added that they pre finance before government reimburses them. In an interview with Sefah-Danquah on the Happy Morning show on Happy 98.9FM, Mrs Asante said they don’t have suppliers who gives them food items.

“Sometimes we take the food from the market women on loan and after we received our payment we go and pay the debt. Our major challenge now is our monies don’t come as expected so we always have issues with the market women who give us food items on loan”.

The delay in payment of makes it difficult for us to settle the debt of food items supplied to us on loan by the market women.
