President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially inaugurated the newly constructed School Junction to Motorway Road.

This project is designed to enhance road connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the area.

The road, connecting School Junction on the Adjiriganor stretch to the Tema Motorway, is expected to significantly improve transportation for residents in East Legon, Ashaley Botwe, and neighboring communities.

The project aligns with the government’s broader infrastructure agenda, aiming to reduce travel time and support economic activities by offering motorists a smoother and faster route.

At the launch event, Greater Accra Regional Minister Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover emphasized the impact of road projects in the region.

“This ceremony is yet another indication that the Greater Accra Region has had a good share of the roads projects being constructed by the Nana Addo administration” he said.

He further noted that developments like the Borteyman Sports Complex and town roads have made the area more desirable for residential living. The 5.8 kilometer road project is expected to improve access to the sports complex, which hosted the recent 13th All African Games.

The minister also highlighted that the project will enhance road safety and reduce travel time for commuters in areas such as Ashaley Botwe, School Junction, Maijaw, and Borteyman.

He expressed confidence that the government’s efforts would be recognized by voters in the upcoming elections, encouraging support for the NPP.

Minister for Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, also lauded the project as evidence of the government’s commitment to enhancing accessibility, reducing travel times, and promoting economic growth.

He noted that before the project, commuters faced significant challenges due to poor road conditions, inadequate connectivity, and extended travel times. “Today, those challenges are behind us,” he stated, expressing gratitude to all stakeholders involved in making the project a reality.

President Akufo-Addo described the new road as a fulfillment of the government’s promises, transforming words into tangible action. “This project is a clear demonstration of my government’s vision for a modern, interconnected, and prosperous Ghana,” he said.

He emphasized that the road does more than just improve transportation; it bridges communities, creates economic opportunities, and stimulates growth.

The president praised the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the Department of Urban Roads, and the project’s construction team.

He urged Ghanaians to view this achievement as one of many under his administration, highlighting the extensive development work taking place across the country, from road construction to healthcare and education infrastructure.

As the country heads into the next election cycle, President Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to continuing this transformative journey.

“The success of this project, along with numerous other achievements, is a testament to what we can accomplish together. Let’s continue building a greater and brighter Ghana,” he concluded.
