The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Legal Team Member, Victor Adawudu has expressed his sincere gratitude to the Supreme Court for nullifying the re-collation of parliamentary results of four constituencies.
The Supreme Court on Friday December 27, 2024 nullified the re-collation of parliamentary election results for Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central and Techiman South and asked the Accra High Court to re-visit its ruling on those four constituencies and allow the NDC to join the case as they requested in Court.
In an interview with Victor Adawudu, he emphasized that the NDC notified the Accra High Court that they had an interest in the case presented by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but they were denied. The Supreme Court has now granted the party the application and has asked them to present their application on Monday, 30th December, 2024 for the High Court to sit on the case on Tuesday, 31st December, 2024.
“So the mere fact that there was notice that they had an interest in it, and they were not heard, the court says that it’s been elevated to constitutional right. So even administrative bodies, when they are bound by that, how much more the court”, he said.
He emphasized that the NDC legal team will sit down and plan on the way forward and wait for the courts hearing
“And if you look at it, the court process that were flawed, it was on the six constituencies, but once they were doing the re-collation, they did seven, so I’m sure the legal team will sit down and look at the others, i haven’t heard anything about Oboasi East so I’m sure the party and the candidates will sit down and see how it will go forward”, he added
