The seven-member committee set up by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, has opened an inquiry into the disruption of vetting by Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

The probing committee , chaired by Ho West MP Emmanuel Bedzrah, includes Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, Abena Osei Asare, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, and Bede Ziedeng. It is expected to uncover the events that led to the scuffle and the violation of parliamentary proceedings during the sitting.

The inquiry began with the committee analyzing video footage from multiple angles, which will be cross-checked with the testimonies from Members of Parliament present during the scuffle.

Recent reports from happyghana.com indicate that the suspension of the four Members of Parliament involved in the scuffle was lifted on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, by the Speaker. They are expected to face the probing committee today to provide their testimony.
